The UCCG Department of Research and Development imparts knowledge to design, develop, and enhance its students in areas of products, services, technologies, or processes that ensure quality research and developmental programs relating to Christocracy. Studying research entails learning a different research vocabulary. It involves being open to different philosophical and theoretical foundations in the quest to better understand some phenomenon of interest. Extensive research of biblical solutions to understand these phenomena of interest have produced changed lives, restored families, increased church growth and strengthened communities.
In Christocracy, R&D serves as a basic premise to impart Christocratic modality to students in research such that if they are to understand certain phenomena, they must understand them in context. Therefore, Christocratic researchers will apply biblical principles to conduct their investigations in the natural settings in which the phenomena occur.
The UCCG Department of R&D instructs students to compare the quantitative and qualitative approaches and understand the differences between them. The aim of the R&D Department of UCCG is to expose students to examining the nature of qualitative and quantitative research design. The Department of R&D asserts the role of R&D in Christocracy; Research methods– action research, qualitative and quantitative; Research design including developing research items; and Thesis development. Students gain insight into the overall survey planning, design, and execution processes. They also examine some of the key statistical methods and tools used to analyze data and obtain valid, accurate results to further Christocracy and its goals throughout the world. Ultimately, students learn that all research methods have their own strengths and limitations, and will come to understand that no research method is inherently any “better” than any other.
SPECIAL SEMINAR COURSES
In the Special Seminar Courses, the UCCG offers many shorter classes on different topics that deepen student’s understanding of governance. They provide students with training in the biblical rationale in sociological strategy, and practical implementation of ministry through group-based interactions or individualized study on the subject of dominion and its mandate through the Superstructure.
Faculty members from each academic department of the University teach in the Seminar program. This assures that a breadth of topics are available in the Seminar program – faculty members frequently propose seminar topics based on their areas of disciplinary expertise, or sometimes they may draw on areas of personal interest which are not associated with their academic specialty. Many of the topics are of interest to all the people in the church such as small groups in the practice of Christocracy. UCCG encourage church leaders to attend a seminar and work through them as groups. The seminars add a spiritual dimension as students reflect together on its teaching and governance of the earth by Christocrats.
